Connect OwnerRez and import a property

Connect OwnerRez to import Wi-Fi, checkout, house rules, and other details as drafts, and keep reservations in sync for your Checkout card.

If you manage your property in OwnerRez, you can connect it to Bienvue. Bienvue imports your property details as drafts to review before anything appears on screens, and keeps reservations in sync so the Checkout card displays each guest's departure date.

Connect OwnerRez

You can connect while signing up, or at any time afterwards.

  • While signing up: on How would you like to start?, choose OwnerRez under Connect your booking system and select Connect. You will go to OwnerRez to allow access, then return to pick which property to set up first. Bienvue creates it with its name and type from OwnerRez, links it, and opens Content with its details waiting as drafts. You can add more properties later in Settings.
  • Later: open Integrations from your profile menu and select Connect beside OwnerRez.

Only owners and admins can connect or disconnect integrations, and link a property. Anyone who can edit the guide can review and save the drafts in Content. Bienvue's access to OwnerRez is read-only: it never changes anything in your OwnerRez account.

Link a property

Each Bienvue property is linked to one OwnerRez property. In Settings, under Integrations, select Link a property, then Link beside the matching OwnerRez property. A property you set up from OwnerRez while signing up is already linked. An OwnerRez property that is already linked to another of your Bienvue properties can't be chosen twice.

Once linked, Bienvue reads the property's bookings and keeps them current, and the Calendar page lists the coming stays. See Calendar.

Import details

Once a property is linked, what OwnerRez has for it appears at the top of Content, under From OwnerRez. Each item is a draft, and nothing appears in your guide until you open it, check it, and save it. While your guide has no cards yet, the drafts come first, with the usual suggestions folded under What guests ask next.

Bienvue checks OwnerRez the first time you open Content in a session. To see a change you just made in OwnerRez, select Check OwnerRez again.

Your property's address from OwnerRez is also filled in for you under Nearby in Content, ready for its first search. Nothing is searched until you select Find places, and the address is never shown to guests.

To skip a draft, select × beside it. It isn't offered again unless its value changes in OwnerRez.

Bienvue can import:

  • Wi-Fi network and password
  • Checkout time, with any checkout instructions
  • House rules
  • House manual
  • Directions
  • Neighborhood description
  • A Weather card, from the property's ZIP code, for a property in the United States whose ZIP code the forecast can find

Exact values, like a Wi-Fi password or a checkout time, are marked for you to verify before saving. A wrong password on a guest's TV is worse than none.

Bienvue never imports door codes, key pickup or arrival instructions. Whoever reads your guide on the TV is already inside.

When your guide already has the card

A property has one Wi-Fi card and one Checkout card. If yours already has one, the draft says Update your Wi-Fi card (or Checkout) and opens your existing card with the values from OwnerRez filled in. Each field that differs is marked Changed in OwnerRez with what your card said before, except a Wi-Fi password, whose old value is never shown. A house rules or manual draft matches a card with the same title the same way. Nothing changes until you select Save.

If a draft would say exactly what your card already says, it isn't listed.

When something changes in OwnerRez

If you change a value in OwnerRez after importing it, the next time Bienvue checks, that card is listed in Content as Changed in OwnerRez since you imported it. Edits you make to a card in Bienvue are yours: a card is only offered again when OwnerRez's own value changes. A card you imported before this was in place may be offered once as Update your … card if you've edited it since; save it or leave it as it is.

If OwnerRez has left a field blank, such as a Wi-Fi password, your card's value is kept.

Suggested name and timezone

When OwnerRez has a different property name or timezone from yours, Settings shows it under Suggested from OwnerRez. Select Use to take OwnerRez's value, or Keep mine to keep yours. After Keep mine, it isn't suggested again unless OwnerRez's value changes.

Unlink or disconnect

  • Unlink in Settings stops syncing drafts and reservations from OwnerRez, and removes reservations from your Calendar. Cards you already saved remain in your guide.
  • Disconnect on the Integrations page ends Bienvue's access to your OwnerRez account for the whole organization. Your properties stay linked, so connecting again picks up where you left off.

If you revoke Bienvue's access from inside OwnerRez instead, the connection ends the same way as Disconnect.

If it doesn't work

  • "OwnerRez was not connected because access was denied": you chose not to allow access in OwnerRez. Select Connect again and allow it.
  • "Could not connect OwnerRez": try Connect again, and contact support if it keeps happening.
  • "Could not reach OwnerRez": OwnerRez may be briefly unavailable. Try again shortly, or reconnect on the Integrations page.
  • "That OwnerRez property is already linked to another property": unlink it from the other Bienvue property first.
  • No Connect on the Integrations page, or no Integrations section in Settings: only owners and admins see them, and the Settings section appears once your organization is connected.
  • No drafts in Content: the property isn't linked yet (link it in Settings), or everything OwnerRez has is already in your guide.
